1. Nature of Averion's Services

Averion Ventures ("Averion") is a transportation coordination platform. Averion connects passengers — including seniors and individuals with mobility challenges — with verified independent drivers for pre-arranged transportation services. Averion is not a taxi company, a rideshare operator, an emergency medical transport provider, or a healthcare service provider.

By using Averion's platform, booking a trip, or engaging our services in any way, you acknowledge and accept the service limitations set out in this Disclaimer.

2. Averion is Not a Medical Transport Provider

Averion provides non-emergency, pre-arranged passenger transportation only. Our services are not a substitute for emergency medical services, ambulance transport, or any medically supervised transportation.

Important — If you or your passenger requires emergency medical assistance

  • • Call 911 immediately. Do not rely on your Averion driver as a substitute for emergency medical services.
  • • Averion drivers are First Aid and BLS certified and trained to provide appropriate initial assistance while awaiting emergency services — but they are not paramedics, nurses, or physicians.
  • • Averion is not equipped to transport passengers who require active medical monitoring, intravenous therapy, oxygen administration, or any other clinical intervention during transport.
  • • If a passenger's medical condition changes during a trip, the driver will call 911 and contact Averion's Safety Manager immediately.

Passengers or booking coordinators who require medically supervised transport should engage a licensed medical transportation provider or ambulance service.

3. Service Limitations

3.1 Driver Independence

All Averion drivers are independent contractors, not employees of Averion Ventures. Averion coordinates and verifies drivers but does not control the day-to-day performance of driving services. Averion is not responsible for the individual actions or omissions of independent contractor drivers beyond what is provided in Averion's Terms & Conditions.

3.2 Delays and Scheduling

Averion makes every reasonable effort to ensure on-time arrival and departure. However, Averion cannot guarantee specific arrival or departure times and is not liable for delays caused by:

  • Traffic conditions, road closures, accidents, or construction
  • Weather events including snow, ice, flooding, or severe weather
  • Mechanical failure or vehicle breakdown (Averion will arrange alternative transportation as soon as possible)
  • Circumstances beyond Averion's reasonable control, including natural disasters or public emergencies
  • Inaccurate pickup or drop-off information provided by the passenger or booking coordinator

If a delay affects a time-sensitive medical appointment, Averion recommends booking with sufficient buffer time and informing the appointment provider of your transportation arrangement.

3.3 Service Area

Averion currently operates within Metro Vancouver and British Columbia. Service availability varies by location, time of day, and driver availability. Averion does not guarantee service coverage across all areas at all times. Confirm service availability for your specific location by calling 778-253-6142 before booking.

3.4 Vehicle and Accessibility

Averion offers wheelchair-accessible vehicle (WAV) options and requires passengers to disclose mobility aid requirements at the time of booking. Averion makes every effort to match passengers with appropriate vehicles, but cannot guarantee WAV availability at all times in all areas. Passengers with complex accessibility needs are encouraged to book at least 24 hours in advance.

Averion drivers are trained to assist with manual wheelchairs, walkers, canes, and foldable mobility scooters. Drivers are not permitted to physically lift passengers or perform medical procedures. Passengers who require lifting or clinical transfer assistance must be accompanied by an appropriate support person.

3.5 Lost or Left-Behind Items

Averion is not responsible for items left in a driver's vehicle during or after a trip. If you believe you have left an item in a vehicle, contact Averion at info@averion.ca or 778-253-6142 within 24 hours of your trip and we will make every reasonable effort to assist in recovering it. Averion cannot guarantee the recovery of lost items.

3.6 Companion and Third-Party Passengers

Where a family member, caregiver, or companion travels with the primary passenger, the booking coordinator accepts this Disclaimer and Averion's Terms & Conditions on behalf of all passengers in the vehicle. Averion's obligations extend equally to all passengers booked under a single trip.

4. Passenger Health & Safety Responsibility

Passengers and booking coordinators are responsible for accurately disclosing relevant health, mobility, and accessibility information at the time of booking. This includes:

  • All mobility aids required (type and size)
  • Whether a wheelchair-accessible vehicle is needed
  • Any cognitive, communication, or behavioural considerations the driver should be aware of
  • Any medical conditions that may affect the passenger's safety during transport
  • Whether a support person or companion will be travelling with the passenger

Averion cannot be held responsible for safety outcomes arising from undisclosed health or mobility information that would have affected the driver assignment, vehicle selection, or assistance protocol.

5. Booking Accuracy

Passengers and booking coordinators are responsible for ensuring that all booking information is accurate, including pickup and drop-off addresses, scheduled date and time, and any special instructions. Averion is not liable for failed or incomplete trips resulting from inaccurate booking information provided by the user.

If you need to modify a booking, contact Averion at least 2 hours before the scheduled pickup at 778-253-6142 or info@averion.ca. Changes made less than 2 hours before pickup are subject to the cancellation policy in Averion's Terms & Conditions.

6. No Professional Advice

Nothing in Averion's communications, website content, driver interactions, or service materials constitutes medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice. Averion drivers are transportation professionals, not healthcare providers. Any health-related information shared with a driver for the purpose of arranging appropriate transport assistance does not create a clinical relationship of any kind.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable British Columbia and Canadian law, Averion's total liability for any claim arising from a service limitation described in this Disclaimer is limited to the fare paid for the specific trip to which the claim relates.

This Disclaimer does not limit or exclude any rights you have under the BC Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act or any other applicable consumer protection legislation. Your statutory rights are fully preserved.
