Reliability Standard

Every driver representing Averion Ventures is an ambassador of our mission: to provide safe, compassionate, and reliable transportation for those who need it most. These obligations are not just rules — they are the foundation of the trust our clients place in us every single day.

All drivers must maintain the following at all times:

Valid Driver's License

Class 4 or equivalent commercial license as required by provincial regulations.

Clean Driving Record

No major violations in the past 3 years. Abstract reviewed annually.

Criminal Background Check

Enhanced RCMP background check completed before onboarding and renewed every 2 years.

First Aid Certification

Valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification required.

Vehicle Inspection

Annual vehicle safety inspection certificate. Vehicle must be less than 8 years old.

Insurance Coverage

Commercial vehicle insurance with minimum $2M liability coverage.

Our clients are often elderly, medically vulnerable, or require special assistance. Drivers must uphold the highest standards of care:

Assistance & Mobility Support
  • Always exit the vehicle and assist passengers to and from the door
  • Provide arm support when requested or when passenger appears unsteady
  • Properly secure wheelchairs and mobility devices before departure
  • Never rush passengers — allow adequate time for boarding and alighting
  • Carry and assist with light bags or medical equipment when needed
Communication & Compassion
  • Greet every passenger warmly and introduce yourself by name
  • Speak clearly and patiently, especially with hearing-impaired clients
  • Maintain a calm, reassuring demeanor at all times
  • Respect cultural differences and personal boundaries
  • Never discuss personal opinions on politics, religion, or sensitive topics
Confidentiality
  • All passenger information is strictly confidential
  • Never discuss a passenger's medical condition, destination, or personal details with others
  • Do not take photos of passengers or their belongings
  • Comply with PIPEDA and all applicable privacy laws
Vehicle must be clean inside and out before every shift
Climate control must be functional and set to passenger comfort
Music must be kept low or off unless passenger requests otherwise
Absolutely no smoking or vaping in or near the vehicle
All safety equipment (first aid kit, fire extinguisher) must be present
Wheelchair ramps and tie-downs must be tested before each shift
Phone holder must be used — no handheld device use while driving
Vehicle must have sufficient fuel before each trip
Arrive Early

Drivers must arrive at the pickup location at least 5 minutes before the scheduled time.

Notify Dispatch

Any delay must be reported to dispatch immediately with an estimated arrival time.

Cancellation Protocol

If a driver must cancel, minimum 3 hours notice is required. Repeated cancellations may result in deactivation.

Approved Routes

Use the most direct, safe route. Detours require passenger consent and must be reported.

Seatbelts must be worn by all occupants at all times
Never drive under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any impairing medication
In a medical emergency, pull over safely and call 911 immediately
Report all accidents, incidents, or near-misses to dispatch within 1 hour
Do not attempt to provide medical treatment beyond basic first aid
Follow all provincial traffic laws and posted speed limits at all times
Do not accept rides outside the Averion Ventures platform while on duty

The following actions will result in immediate suspension or termination:

Accepting cash payments outside the platform
Soliciting tips or additional fees from passengers
Sharing passenger information with third parties
Using a passenger's personal information for personal gain
Engaging in romantic or inappropriate conduct with passengers
Falsifying trip records or mileage
Operating the vehicle while fatigued or impaired
Discriminating against passengers based on any protected ground

Driver performance is monitored through passenger ratings, dispatch feedback, and periodic reviews. Drivers are expected to maintain:

Drivers falling below these standards will receive a performance improvement plan. Continued non-compliance may result in deactivation from the platform.
